Sodalite
Sodalite is characterized by its dark, intense blue color with white andsometimes yellow streaks. This sodium aluminum chlorine silicate isalmost identical in composition to lapis lazuli, except lapis contains sulfur instead ofchlorine. In fact, it often is confused with its lapis cousin. Its name probably is culled from its sodium content, though some say it comes from the Latin solidus ("solid") since it was a solid used in the process ofglassmaking. Never clean this stone in an ultrasonic machine; steaming is possible but risky, so your best bet is warm, soapy water. Also, avoid rough handling. The gemstone fuses to a colorless glass in heat and can be attacked byhydrochloric acid.Sodalite has beendiscovered in ancient tombs and ruins in various ornamental forms, often as a replacement for lapis lazuli. It is said that Egyptian priests often used sodalite to dispel fears and topromote a clear, insightful mind. Mystics today say the gemstone can help change the way you feel about yourself. It is believed to have subtle, soothing energies and help you to see the wisdom of adopting a simpler, less hectic lifestyle. It also is said to beeffective in combating radiation.Physically, sodalite is said to help boost the immune system, balance the metabolism and cleanse theorgans. It is found in Namibia, Brazil, Canada, Italy, India, Russia and the U.S.A.
Swarovski Crystals
After nine years of work , Daniel Swarovski perfected a machinethat could cut and polish crystal with precision. As a boy, he worked in his father's glass and crystal factory where workers cut and polished thecrystal by hand, a laborious and time-consuming task.Daniel Swarovski envisioned a better way.In 1892, Daniel Swarovski, the son of aBohemian-born gemcutter, founded the Swarovski Crystal. The Swarovski Crystals are considered the highest quality machine cutand polished crystals in the world. The Swarovski Company makesitsproduct with a special compound containing at least 32% leadwhichcreates the incredible brilliance of their products.Swarovskiuses complex machinery to precisely cut each crystal so the facetjuncture is “pointing up” at precisely the same point, producing theunbelievable flash Swarovski crystals are known for. When you lookinside one of their crystals you won’t see any bubbles or flaws, onlyincredible color and sparkle. Swarovski AB Crystals have an Aurora Borealis coating on them, usually only on one side of a crystal which gives off a rainbowlike array of colors. The colors are most apparent when on a clear crystal.
Swarovski Crystal Pearls
These “pearls” are absolutely faux and absolutely fabulous! Each bead has a genuine Swarovski crystal core and a synthetic pearly coating.Crystal pearls are the premium, top-grade imitation pearl. They are comparable to organic pearls in almost every way: shape, depth of luster, weight and as with natural pearls, theyadjust to skin temperature. The Swarovski company’s innovative coating technology applies the pearl finish in many layers, creating a glow that seems to radiate from within. The finished beads have a smooth, sensuous texture, a perfect shape and consistent color. The high specific gravity of crystal gives the bead an appropriately moderate weight. The beads’ perfect luster is entirely free of flaws, while most manufactured pearls are either too shiny, too matte or too flawed on the surface.Manufactured pearls also tend to be too lightweight and are prone to fading and chipping.Crystal pearls are resistant to wear, perspiration, sunlight, scratches, perfumes and washing.
